Artsy Weekend

If São Paulo is your destination this Father's Day weekend, we invite you to an artsy adventure: the exhibition Contamination Games, by artist Nazareth Pacheco, at MUBE, @mube_sp. This collection of the artist's work will be on display, bringing together a wide range of creations from Nazareth's oeuvre.

Over the last three decades, Nazareth Pacheco has been developing an artistic production of remarkable originality, whose expression is firmly rooted in her personal experience. Like other artists of her generation, the artist has taken her female condition and her biography, particularly the narratives related to her body's history, as raw material for her three-dimensional experiments.

Contamination Games brings together works created by the artist since the end of the 1980s, following her production and research over four decades, plus two outdoor pieces created for this exhibition.

In the critical discourse about the artist's work, it is common to mention the initial influence of post-minimalism, serialization as an operational procedure, and the interest in experimenting with materials and confronting their properties and uses.

The production of Nazareth Pacheco is also frequently associated with relationships of contrast and reflection between beauty and violence, seduction and repulsion, pleasure and pain, protection and imprisonment, control and vulnerability, intimacy and exposure, fragility and resistance.
