Heat Ritual Presence

For many and for a long time, the sauna was associated only with extreme heat, physical resistance or a quick moment of relaxation, often accompanied by a jacuzzi or pool.

Today, in the search for new wellness care and rituals, it becomes an environment for body regulation, nervous system and presence.

Today, in the search for new wellness care and rituals, it becomes an environment for body regulation, nervous system and presence.

From Nordic tradition to hammam culture, contemporary wellness protocols give space and reinterpretation to what we understand as sauna.

Sauna rituals are, in fact, conscious heat protocols, designed to modulate energy, recovery, sleep, focus, skin and emotional states.

We organize this space as a guide, to experiment gradually and adapt to your own pace:

1 THE GOLDEN RULE: WHAT REALLY MAKES A RITUAL WORK

Whether it is a Finnish sauna or a hammam culture, every well-conducted ritual respects four fundamental pillars:

Intensity of heat
(temperature + humidity)

Dose
(time of exposure + number of rounds)

Transitions
(cooling, rest, rehydration)

Intention
(silence, breathing, aroma, touch, social or introspection)

The most common error is ignoring the transitions, when, in truth, it is in them that the body integrates the effect of the heat.

Sauna is not about continuous permanence. It is about entering, exiting, pausing and returning different.

The traditional sauna was never a test of strength. It was always a place of body listening.

2 THE TYPE OF SAUNA CHANGES THE RITUAL

Before talking about protocols, it is essential to understand the space:

Sauna dry (finlandese)
High temperature, low humidity. Ideal para rounds curtos e profundos.

Sauna with steam (löyly)
Water on the stones increases the thermal sensation and completely changes the sensorial experience.

Biosauna
Less heat, more humidity. Excellent for sleep rituals and for those who prefer softness.

Hammam
Focus on skin, mucous membranes, deep relaxation and sensorial cleansing.

Sauna infrared
More tolerable, with longer sessions and less cardiovascular impact.

3 THE ROUND SYSTEM

Most rituals follow the same logic:

Heat -> Cooling -> Rest -> Hydration

A classic and safe format:
Round 1: 6-10 minutes (aclimatação)
Cooling: 1-3 minutes (fresh air or shower)
Rest: 5-10 minutes

This cycle can be repeated 1 to 3 times, depending on the ritual objective.

RITUALS

For many and for a long time, the sauna was associated with extreme heat, physical resistance or a quick moment of relaxation, often accompanied by a jacuzzi or pool.

CLASSIC FINNISH RITUAL

For what: deep relaxation and mental reset
Total duration: 45-75 minutes
Ideal temperature: 80 °C to 100 °C (low humidity)
What to use: water for hydration, towel to sit and dry brush

3 progressive rounds
light steam only in the second round
silence as part of the ritual
The focus here is not intensity,
but continuous presence.

BREATH & HEAT

For what: emotional regulation and mindfulness
Duration: 20-35 minutes
Ideal temperature: 60 °C to 80 °C

Single round
Nasal breathing
Early exit as part of the method
Here, exiting early is a signal of listening and self-care, not failure.

RITUAL RECOVERY (PÓS-TREINO)

For what: muscular relaxation and recovery
Duration: 30-55 minutes
Ideal temperature: 70 °C to 90 °C
What to use: water and/ or light electrolytes, towel, short cold shower and prolonged rest between rounds

1 ou 2 rounds apenas
resfriamento curto e gentil
hidratação reforçada
Aqui, menos frio costuma ser mais eficiente.

RITUAL DO SONO

Temperatura ideal: 40 °C a 50 °C (umidade alta)

A CERIMÔNIA DO VAPOR

For what: sensorial stimulation, focus and energy
Format: guided ceremony for 10-15 minutes
Ideal temperature: 70 °C to 90 °C
What to use: water for hydration, towel, esfoliating glove, essential oils always diluted, air circulation with towel

The vapor is distributed in waves, with air circulation and diluted aromas.
Here herbs like lavender and essential oils can be used mixed with water.
It is a profoundly sensorial experience.

SAUNA & RITUALS

When well conducted, the sauna becomes a space of transition between the external and the internal, the excess and the silence, the doing and the being.

And maybe it is exactly this that we are looking for now: less stimulation, more presence and care.
