Notes From Rome
Mary Katrantzou built her language from a particular look at objects, images, and colors.
Since her debut in 2008, the Greek designer gained recognition for her digital prints of unusual scale and complexity, transforming typewriters, perfumes, jewelry, and shoes into images that transcended the real object and gained a new dimension.
This same curiosity about objects and jewelry found, years later, a new territory in Rome.
Her relationship with Bvlgari began in 2019 and deepened over the years, until in 2024, Katrantzou assumed as the first Creative Director of Leather Goods & Accessories of the maison.
Since then, Rome has occupied an even more special place in her creative process. Between the Greek heritage she shares with Sotirio Bulgari, the maison's archive and the city's architecture, Mary finds references everywhere: in the mosaics, in the colors, in the forms and in the small details that make up Roman life.
It is with this look that she invites us to discover Rome.

different layers: the
Altar of the Fatherland, the Basilica
of Saint Peter and the ancient
rooftops of the city.

of the Oranges is one of
her secret spots. The tip
is to arrive early, when
the rooftops of Rome
appear under the light of
dawn.

It's worth walking slowly
through the area and looking for the
famous framing
of the dome of Saint Peter.

The contemporary counterpart of
the itinerary. Designed by
Zaha Hadid, the museum
places contemporary architecture
in dialogue with a city
with thousands of years.
TERMAS DE CARACALLA
A place especially
important for her
work. The Roman mosaics
found in the baths were a
reference for one of
her first collections.
