We're Stronger Together
Starting today, a week to raise awareness about the importance of prevention and early diagnosis.
Every month, thousands of women wait to receive a good treatment against breast cancer, a disease we know is one of the main causes of death worldwide. Today one in every eight women will have breast cancer.
Every year, TH lights a candle of awareness and supports a week, in honor of the Pink October, with part of our sales donated to the Protea Institute.
We created a selection of choices with 30% OFF, in honor of the week, and a discount code valid on the entire site, where part of the sales will be donated to the Protea Institute.

Self-examination
We have separated some tips from @institutoprotea with ways to observe the size, shape, color or any unusual aspect in the breasts, to perform the self-examination whenever possible.

Between Diagnosis and Care
There is something about time that changes everything. In breast cancer, it translates into chances of cure and, often, into survival. In Brazil, where more than 73,000 new cases are estimated for 2025, this time still runs against the lives of thousands of women. 50 Brazilian women die every day of breast cancer
Today, 1 in every 8 women in the world will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. In Brazil, breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in women, behind only non-melanoma skin cancer. And when access to treatment takes time, the outcome transforms into inequality: 1 in every 4 Brazilian women diagnosed with breast cancer dies within five years.
The inequality is brutal. In the United States, 90% of patients survive after five years. In Brazil, this index drops to 75%. And more than 70% of the population has no health insurance, depending on a public system that, many times, does not keep pace with urgency.
The Beginning of a New Story
In the middle of this scenario, the Institute Protea was born. In 2017, Gabriella Antici, for the second time before the breast cancer diagnosis, perceived that her privilege was time, something that so many other women did not have. A friendship connection was the starting point for a reflection: how many of the 60,000 women diagnosed per year in Brazil would have the chance to be treated on time?
In the following year, the Institute Protea was founded with a simple and powerful mission: to provide dignified, agile and quality treatment for women of low income. The name, borrowed from the African flower that symbolizes transformation, hope and strength, reflects the essence of the project ? transform fear into struggle and pain into possibility.
The Urgency of Caring
The Protea works in partnership with private and philanthropic hospitals, financing part of the breast cancer treatment. Since 2018, it has benefited more than 2,200 women, performed 40,000 consultations and exams, and impacted almost 17,000 families. The main project, Protea AMAR, is a model of efficiency and humanity: diagnoses in a single day, reduction of surgical queues and emotional support throughout the journey.
The impact is visible. In São Paulo, the average time to perform exams dropped from 45 days to the same day. The number of women attended increased by 15%, and the number of exams performed, 45%. The number of treated women increased by 50%, with the surgical queue reduced by a month.
In Salvador, the project expanded access to surgeries and consultations at the Hospital Aristides Maltez, offering treatment to hundreds of women from Bahia, one of the regions with the lowest early diagnosis index in the country.
Caring Beyond the Body
The treatment of breast cancer goes beyond surgery and chemotherapy. It is a physical, emotional and social reconstruction. For this reason, the Cores Group, an initiative of the Institute Protea, offers a rehabilitation network and accommodation: more than 60 volunteers and 1,200 consultations in integrative therapies such as psychotherapy, art therapy, oncological nutrition, mindfulness, yoga and areolar reconstruction. It is the care that looks at the whole woman, not just the disease.
Technology as Ally
Since 2020, the Protea works in partnership with the MIT and the Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston, validating an artificial intelligence capable of diagnosing breast cancer in early stages. This technology, already tested with excellent results at the Hospital of Love, was implemented at the Hospital Santa Marcelina, in São Paulo, and has the potential to change the way cancer is detected in the country.
More than 50% of women arrive at the hospital with the disease in advanced stages. AI promises to turn this scenario around, identifying early signs, reducing invasive treatments, and, above all, saving lives.
The Pink October is a reminder that time matters, and early diagnosis saves lives. But it is also an invitation to empathy. It is about understanding that behind each statistic there is a woman, a story, a family.
The fight against breast cancer is not just medical; it is social, human, collective. Supporting the Institute Protea is choosing to be part of this transformation, where each donation, gesture and voice echoes as an act of love and hope.
Because when time is just, the future blooms. Learn more at institutoprotea.org.br
