There Is Always Someone at Home

He opened his eyes, which had remained open the whole time, but had only seen thoughts, and saw his house, nestled down in the valley below.

The house of people. Refuge, hiding place, retreat, nest.

Nazareno partiu desse lugar, intimate, silent, but full of voices, to create the exhibition and series There Is Always Someone at Home, which was at Galeria Lume, in São Paulo. A project that arose from the relationships between space and presence, between what stays and what transforms, and from the observation of this invisible scene where our stories live.

The house, for him, is body, memory and mirror.

It is there that everything happens: the conversations that repeat, the gestures that mark, the silences that speak.

Here the artist extracts poetic material from his works, between dishes, glasses, mirrors and tiles that, once engraved, seem to preserve fragments of lives.

In There Is Always Someone at Home, Nazareno transformed the exhibition space into an imagined house. There are dishes with lovers' digital prints, tiles inscribed with words that ask for stories, and hidden small houses, like confession chests.

The visitor was invited to tour the environment as if entering an unknown house, observing details, searching for signals, listening to what is not said.

Nazareno likes the subversive game that happens inside the houses. It is there, in the most intimate terrain, that the human reveals himself completely: diverse, imperfect, contradictory.

The house is the stage where we perform our lives and, at the same time, the mirror that returns the truth of who we are.

The artist's universe leads us through these layers of intimacy and fiction, where the walls seem to guard not only memories, but also dreams and ghosts.

There is something profoundly human in realizing that, even in silence, there is always someone at home.

Today we bring a little of his work, artist and friend, to tell that a new series, and collaboration between Theodora Home x Galeria Lume, will ascend in the coming days, to celebrate with art, this end of year.
